Arrive in Kutaisi and drive through mountain passes into the heart of Svaneti Stop for lunch at a traditional roadside eatery before continuing to Mestia, the region’s main town Check into a family-run guesthouse and enjoy a home-cooked meal
Visit the Svaneti Museum of History and Ethnography to learn about ancient warrior culture and the iconic defensive towers Explore the town’s stone-paved streets, and enjoy local cheese and chacha (grape vodka) tasting Hike up to the medieval Chalaadi Glacier trail in the late afternoon
Take a 4WD drive or hike to Ushguli, a remote mountain village surrounded by glaciers and medieval watchtowers Visit Lamaria Church and interact with locals still living traditional Svan lifestyles Return to Mestia in the evening
